Market Research Playbook

Actionable insights for algorithmic and manual execution.

The Research tab aggregates essential market data to provide you with a real-time structural trade plan. Rather than trading blind, use these metrics to calibrate your algorithms and validate your manual entries.

Actioning the Core Metrics

  • Market Regime & Direction: Use this to determine your primary directional bias. If the regime is BULL, focus your algorithms or manual entries strictly on long positions. If BEAR, look for shorting opportunities. In a RANGE, deploy mean-reversion strategies.
  • Range High, Mid (POC), and Low: These are your structural levels. Use the Range Low as an optimal entry point for longs or a take-profit target for shorts. The Range High serves as resistance for short entries or long take-profits. The POC (Point of Control) is your fair-value equilibrium—expect choppy price action here.
  • Liquidity Above / Below: These clusters represent massive order book walls. Use them as magnetic targets for your limit orders. If you are riding a trend, place your take-profits just ahead of these liquidity clusters, as price tends to reverse upon hitting them.
  • Volatility (DVOL): Compare current implied volatility against the 30-day and 120-day averages. If DVOL is exceptionally low, prepare for an impending explosive breakout. If DVOL is highly elevated, widen your stop-losses to avoid being wicked out by market noise.
  • Macro Events: Check this daily. Pause your highly leveraged algorithms or widen your stops 30 minutes before 'High' impact events (like CPI prints or FOMC meetings) to protect your capital from unpredictable slippage.
